Current Success and Optimism for the Future

Today, many American firms have developed tech systems that have greatly influenced the way we store and use data. That’s why the US has become a hub for tech startups and paved the way for some of the best tech experts to work in the country.

Once the home of many chip manufacturing firms, California’s Silicon Valley now serves as the world’s top hub for technology and innovation.

It’s no surprise that these initial steps have bred success. A recent survey shows that over 70 percent of tech experts currently working in the US believe that the industry they work in will expand and grow in revenues over the next one year.

Geographic Hotspots

So where are the main tech locations in the United States? A recent research study found that of the 30 percent of the international tech experts who would be ready to relocate to the US and Canada, 31% would be willing to relocate to California, 13 percent to New York, 6 percent to Texas, 7 percent to Florida and 46 percent to other locations in the region.

Of course, Silicon Valley attracts a large number of tech professionals to the country. Home to over 40 tech giants and over 27,000 tech startups guaranteeing tens of thousands of jobs, Silicon Valley provides a wide range of job opportunities in various IT fields.

According to a recent report from Burning-glass.com, out of the leading IT hotspots in America, California had three different locations over the past year with just under 35,000 new job listings.

Apart from Silicon Valley, other locations in the United States are making their mark as centers for IT and innovation.  It’s incredible to see the technological transformations taking place in New York, Texas, Florida and other parts of the country. As a result, cloud engineers, IT security experts, and software developers are currently in high demand around the country.

With the United States setting the pace with many impressive technologies and innovations, many other regions are expected to follow suit. In fact, many tech professionals working in the country expect their job role to change in the next couple of years.

One field that is expected to have a major impact on the industry in the next few years is cyber security. Due to the fast pace of digitization, weaknesses can occur when it comes to the way technologies are developed. As a result, experts expect that cyber security will have to be integrated into the systems in one way or another.

Therefore, cloud engineers, developers and other tech experts will have to learn new skills in order to create stronger systems, to monitor and manage processes and keep their data more secure. Tech professionals will also need to stay abreast with the ever-evolving threats such as DDoS attacks and ransomware.

In addition to political or policy changes, cyber security, Big Data and IoT have been identified as possible disruptors to the sector. But are tech firms prepared for these possible changes? Well, many organizations are proactive in making changes in readiness for the future. That’s why more and more companies are embracing new technologies and exploiting them to their advantage.

On the whole, Americans are very optimistic about the development of new and better technologies in the future. Most people believe that IT has had a great impact on their lives – despite the downfalls (concerns about security, privacy, and the distribution of porn on the internet).
